1. About us
Rogue Automotive is a trading name of Ben Suffield, Unit 6D Southfield Mills, Morley, Leeds, LS27 0SB. You can contact us at hello@rogueautomotive.co.uk. Road-legal plates are supplied by a supplier registered with the DVLA Register of Number Plate Suppliers (RNPS).
2. Your order
When you place an order and pay, we'll email you to confirm we've received it. A contract between us is formed when we accept your order – for show plates, when we start making them; for road-legal plates, once we've checked your documents (see section 3). If we can't accept your order we'll tell you and refund you in full.
Every plate is made to your design. Please check your registration, spacing, sizes and options carefully in the builder before ordering – the preview shows exactly what we'll make.
3. Road-legal plates
By law we can only make road-legal number plates when you show us that you are entitled to the registration (for example the V5C registration certificate, a V750 certificate of entitlement or a V778 retention document) and prove your identity. You upload these at checkout. We'll check them before making your plates and keep a record of the documents seen, as the DVLA requires.
If your documents don't show entitlement to the registration, or we can't verify them, we won't make road-legal plates. We'll contact you, and if it can't be resolved we'll cancel the order and refund you in full.
Road-legal plates are made to British Standard BS AU 145e, with full-size characters in the prescribed font and spacing, and carry the supplier's name, postcode and the British Standard mark.
4. Show plates
Show plates (including plates with custom spacing, non-standard sizes or shapes, tints, or reduced character sizes) are not road legal. They're for shows, display and off-road use only and must not be displayed on a vehicle used on a public road. Displaying an incorrect plate can lead to a fine of up to £1,000, an MOT failure and the registration being withdrawn. You're responsible for how you use show plates.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged at checkout unless your order qualifies for free delivery. Payment is taken securely by our payment provider, Stripe, when you place your order. If we've made an obvious pricing error we'll contact you before making your plates.
6. Making and delivery
Plates are made to order and sent by the delivery method you choose, to UK addresses only. Delivery times are estimates and start once your plates are made (and, for road-legal plates, once your documents have been checked). See Delivery & returns for options and costs.
7. Cancellations and returns
Because number plates are made to your specification and personalised with your registration, the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply once we've started making them. You can cancel for a full refund by emailing us before we start production.
If your plates arrive damaged, faulty or not as ordered, email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos, and we'll replace them or refund you. This doesn't affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable, for business losses, or for fines or penalties from using show plates on the road. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
9. Your information
We use your information as described in our privacy policy.
10. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a problem, please email us first – we'll always try to put things right.
