About 4d number plates
4D plates take a different approach to depth: every character is cut from solid black acrylic and fixed to the plate face. The result is sharp sidewalls and genuine shadows that change as you walk around the car.
Choose 3mm characters for a subtle, factory-fresh look or 5mm for maximum presence, then pick a gloss or matte finish.

Plates are made to order and sent by tracked delivery, free on plate orders over £40.00. Because every plate is personalised, we can't accept returns for change of mind, but if anything arrives damaged or incorrect we'll put it right. Full delivery & returns details.
4D Acrylic plate FAQs
What does 4D mean on a number plate?
4D plates use separate, laser-cut acrylic characters that stand proud of the plate face, rather than printed or gel-coated characters.
Should I choose 3mm or 5mm?
3mm gives a subtle, clean raised look. 5mm adds noticeably more depth and shadow. Use the builder to compare them in 3D.
Are 4D plates road legal?
4D plates can be road legal when the characters are black, the correct font and sizes are used, and the plate meets the British Standard. The builder shows whether your design is a road-legal layout or a show plate.
