About 4d gel number plates
4D gel plates start with the same laser-cut black acrylic characters as our 4D plates, in 3mm or 5mm. Each character is then topped with a clear, domed resin gel, so you get crisp acrylic sidewalls with a rounded, high-gloss crown.
The result stands taller than either style on its own and catches the light from every angle – sharp shadows from the acrylic, liquid highlights from the gel.

4D Gel plate FAQs
What is a 4D gel number plate?
It combines laser-cut 4D acrylic characters with a clear domed gel layer on top of each character, for extra height and a glossy, rounded finish.
How does it differ from 4D or 3D gel?
4D plates have flat-topped acrylic characters; 3D gel plates have gel over printed characters. 4D gel puts the gel dome on top of the acrylic, so it stands taller than both.
Are 4D gel plates road legal?
They can be, when the characters are black, the correct font, size and spacing are used, and the plate meets BS AU 145e. The builder shows the status of your design before you order.
